After six years of building a sophisticated brand of modern baby and kids furniture, bedding and accessories, we are opening a new chapter in our history, said Traci Fleming, Nurseryworks co-founder, in a letter to her retailers. She will continue as president. We are very pleased to turn the company over to a well-respected and experienced company like Million Dollar Baby.

MDB, which just turned 20 years old, is one of the Top 100 Fastest Growing private companies in Los Angeles for 2009 and recognized by INC 5000 as one of the Fastest Growing Private Companies in America. Nurseryworks will be joining a successful lineup of sibling brands managed by MDB Million Dollar Baby, DaVinci Dcor and babyletto. Each of these brands reflects the MDB tradition of safety, quality, service and unparalleled style. Nurseryworks will benefit from the quickly growing brand equity of MDBs family of brands, as they invest in the long-term strengthening of their branding initiatives.

Nurseryworks retailers will see several changes in the near future: * Dedicated account specialists assigned to each account * Live telephone support for retailers and consumers * Stocking warehouses on two coasts within three months * Improved shipping rates * Sophisticated inventory management system * EDI capability * Updated sales and marketing materials both on and offline

The full transition will take some time, but rest assured that we are already underway and will be announcing changes in the coming weeks, said Fleming. The following are a few key safety facts about our company and our products to show how passionate about safety we really are:

We go above and beyond regulations. Aside from passing the CPSCs federal safety standards and being JPMA certified, our products even pass the meticulous Canadian and Japanese safety requirements as well.

Our paint is ultra-safe. We exceed JPMA regulations and go through annual paint tests. Paint is called safe when it has toxic materials under 300 parts per million [ppm].For a company to claim low toxicity means they have paint with toxicity below 90 ppm. Here at Million Dollar Baby, our paint levels come in at less than 2 ppm.

Even our teething rail is safe. Our teething rail has also been tested and is phthalates safe.

We never settle for good enough. We have created our own rigorous quality control programs to stay ahead of industry standards. We have a quality control team at our production site that individually checks and hand packs each piece to assure the highest quality of craftsmanship before we let our pieces leave our factory doors.

We are obsessive about the quality of our products we constantly check them over and over again before we ship them off. Not only do we have a quality control team to manually check our pieces before they are packed and shipped from the factory, but once the products arrive here in the United States, they are once again inspected by another team who then assembles the cased goods by-hand to check the individual pieces once again. Like we said before, you can never be too safe.

We care about the details. Another way that Million Dollar Baby takes extra steps to ensure the safety of your baby is through our hidden hardware feature, which is featured in many of our cribs. We know that babies teethe and get into all sorts of mischief, so not having exposed hardware should give you some extra peace of mind. This hidden hardware is also the problem with many recalls, but this feature makes it nearly impossible to install the crib incorrectly and also builds for a much sturdier crib.
